What kind of disc printing do you want?
Simple Black on Silver

Simple black printing is usually accomplished with thermal direct-to-disc printing. It's affordable, sharp looking, and can be applied to short-run/quick-turn duplication orders.

Thermal Printed Discs
Pros:
  • Affordable
  • Easy Artwork Preparation
  • Clean professional look
Cons:
  • Black only
  • Best for simple line art, minimal graphics
Silk Screen

Silk screen printing is reserved for disc orders over quantity 500, and is great for all types of spot color and full color label designs. Smooth, accurate vibrant color reproduction is ideal for labels requiring PMS color matching, as well as full color designs.

Silk Screen Discs
Pros:
  • Affordable
  • Supports spot color matching
  • Great for large areas of one color -- silky smooth look
  • Can be used for full color designs with good results
Cons:
  • Not appropriate for short-run/quick-turn orders
  • Small text can be hard to read on color separated designs
Full Color

Full color printing is achieved through a variety of means. For short-run/quick-turn projects, the machine-applied laser label is our most popular choice: They look great, won't smear like inkjet, and are hard to distinguish from offset printed discs.  They have the added bonus of protecting the easily damaged reflective layer of recordable media. For large runs, 4-color silk screen is still the most affordable choice, but premium direct digital options are also available that look incredibly sharp.

Pros:
  • Full color discs look great
  • Laser labels protect recordable media
  • Best representation of complex artwork
  • Easy to design
Cons:
  • More expensive than single color options
